The English Premier League continued its festive period with another dull encounter between Crystal Palace and Everton at Selhurst Park on Sunday evening.
The two teams, who had previously met in the FA Cup earlier this season, went into the game looking to continue their recent form, which has seen them win three of their last four league matches.
However, it was not to be for Palace, as they were unable to find the back of the net against Everton, despite creating several chances throughout the match.
In fact, both teams failed to register any shots on target during the entire game, with Everton managing just one shot on goal compared to Palace's two attempts.
Despite the lack of goals, the match remained close throughout, with Everton showing good defensive resilience to keep Palace at bay.
However, it was Palace who eventually found the winner in the 79th minute, when substitute Wilfried Zaha headed home from a corner to secure all three points for his side.
The victory means that Crystal Palace now sit in 14th place in the table, while Everton remain in 15th after their defeat.
Both teams will be hoping to bounce back from this disappointing result next week, as they face off against each other again in the Premier League fixture list.
